Advocacy

The Advocacy Working Group supports regional floodplains management activities by advocating for regional flood planning, regional funding, and any other components required to achieve floodplains resilience in the Lower Fraser. This working group meets weekly to develop briefing notes, plan meetings with government officials, and develop key messaging. 

The advocacy working group promotes regional floodplains management by sharing our message with the broader media and meeting with government officials.

Government Relations

  • Monthly Meetings with Interministerial Group (EMCR, WLRS, Agri, DFO, ISC …)

  • 17+ Meetings with Elected Officials at federal and provincial level 

  • Federal Policy Review to assess the federal landscape for floodplains management 

  • Provincial Policy Review to assess the provincial landscape for floodplains management
